2015 Pinot Noir Rosé, 800 Vines Vineyard, Russian River Valley
With bright clarity and the color of a ruby red grapefruit, the 800 Vines Vineyard Pinot Noir rosé has terrific food pairing potential. Cranberry, grapefruit, and cherry aromas give way to a palate of comparable flavors. With bold flavors and crisp acidity, it can pair with heartier fare such as roast chicken, Ahi salmon, cheeseburgers, and even ribs smothered in a chipotle BBQ sauce. The dry finish inflected with citrus and cherry notes will keep you coming back for more.
The 800 Vines Vineyard is located in the Green Valley AVA of the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. This one-acre parcel of Pinot Noir was planted in 2001 and it was purchased by Tim and Kathy Dellinger in 2010. Well-drained Goldridge soil and the temperate climate are a winning combination when it comes to producing quality Pinot Noir fruit.
