2014 Pinot Noir, Bucher Vineyard, Russian River Valley
A gorgeous dark ruby hue, this beautifully balanced wine has all the characteristics of a classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir–and then some! Aromas of black cherry, ripe raspberry, toasty oak, and baking spice sing from the glass. On the palate, cherry cola flavors prevail, supported by bright acidity and fine-grained tannins. Secondary flavors of rhubarb, black currant, and a kiss of sweet vanilla delight the tastebuds, followed by a long, savory finish.
Luscious and supple, the 2014 Ousterhout Bucher Vineyard Pinot Noir is a joy to drink now and is guaranteed to age gracefully.
About the Vineyard:
The Bucher Vineyard is a part of Bucher Farms, a family-owned, 38-acre sustainable farm located in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley. The Bucher Vineyard is famous for its high quality fruit having produced award winning wines.
The use of organic compost introduces micronutrients into the soil, giving the vines all the key nutrients it needs to produce the highest quality of fruit. Drip irrigation is also used throughout all the vineyards to not only conserve water but give the vines the exact amount of water required for growth and fruit development. The result is beautiful and complex fruit which produces a wonderful wine to be enjoyed for years to come.
