Tasting Panel Magazine reviews June 26 2014

We were thrilled to have both the 2013 Woods Vineyard Pinot Noir Rosé and the 2011 Nance's Vineyard Estate Zinfandel selected as two of the Publisher's Picks in the June 2014 issue of The Tasting Panel Magazine.

2013 Rosé of Pinot Noir, Woods Vineyard, Russian River Valley ($25)
"Dried rose petal–scented, this lighter-than-salmon-hued wine is so dry you can’t help but wipe your teeth with your tongue, tasting the minerals with each swipe. The wispy cotton candy tones are flavored with lavender, tarragon, dill and lanolin with ripe, orange peel undertones. Complex enough???"
Score: 94 points

2011 Zinfandel, Nance’s Vineyard, Alexander Valley ($29)
Medium-bodied, but high acidity, baking spices and milk-chocolate raspberries lend a chef’s hand at creating a great food wine. A peppered sauciness calms down the jamminess from the sun-shiny fruit.
Score: 91 points

In addition to the scores based on a traditional 100-point scale, wines chosen by Publisher and Executive Editor Meredith May are additionally rated from 1 to 5 kisses. According to Meredith May, one kiss means the wine is "worthy of a smooch". Two is a "French-style double bisou" and three kisses means she is "wildly infatuated" with the wine. If she gives it four, then she's "seriously smitten" and five means she is "head over heels in love".

Ms. May was "seriously smitten" with our Rosé and "wildly infatuated" with our Zinfandel! Read the digital edition here.
